The Room’s Greg Sestero and Tommy Wiseau, the most impressive collaborative force since Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski, reunite on-screen for the first time in nearly 15 years. The pair shot to cult stardom when The Room was unleashed upon the world in 2003 and quickly became dubbed ‘the Citizen Kane of bad movies.’
Whilst the nostalgia and love for The Room is still very much alive, fans like ourselves had reached a point where we wanted to see more of both Tommy and Greg’s newer work. Tommy is working on sitcom The Neighbors, whilst Greg has been promoting his book The Disaster Artist – but we could never have dreamed of something like Best F(r)iends coming along.
We caught a sneak peak of the upcoming Gary Fong directed film when Greg embarked on a small UK tour earlier this month – and we were floored by the project. It looks like The Room meets a David Lynch road movie and attempts to take us to fresh territory instead of retreading elements of Wiseau’s original picture.
