Troye Sivan takes the lead in Three Months, an upcoming coming-of-age film directed by Jared Frieder and co-starring Ellen Burstyn, Viveik Kalra, and Brianne Tju, arriving on February 23rd. For the feature, the Australian singer and actor records new song Trouble – a collaboration with Jay Som, which is set to feature in the upcoming indie drama.
The official synopsis reads: “Coming-of-age film about Caleb, a South Florida teen. On the eve of his high school graduation, everything changes when he’s exposed to HIV. While he waits three months for his results, he finds love in the most unlikely of places.”
Sivan co-writes Trouble with Brett McLaughlin, Kaelyn Behr and Melina Duterte with production from Styalz Fuego. It’s lo-fi synths and crunching pounding production paired with the respective vocals of Sivan and Som create an engaging blend. The chorus sees both performers sing “And I’m like “Oh, sweet God, I think I’m in trouble” / Kinda makin’ me wonder what it’s like on the other side / And I’m like, “Baby, you kinda drivin’ me crazy” / I’m not one that needs saving, but I guеss I’ll give it a try…”
