Drag Race UK Star Le Fil Delights With Debut EP ‘Le Filosophical’

Drag star Le Fil has been a sheer pleasure to watch on our screens each week during the fourth series of BBC’s RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. The performer now releases their debut EP Le Filosophical featuring five original tracks, produced by Lost Child (a name that may be familiar to Culture Fix readers). Le Fil’s lead single for the project is the impressive This Is My Culture – a dramatic dancefloor orientated pop gem. anchored by the lyric “I know who I am. I know where I’ve been. I’m right where I’m meant to be.”

Le Fil notes the lead single is “dedicated to my creative family, queer family, Asian family, and to you, my amazing fans. It has been an epic journey and I really couldn’t have done it without all of you. You’ve had my back throughout this entire journey, and really supported me – from all the collaborators, designers, photographers, filmmakers, fans, people who have messaged me or lifted my spirits – together we’ve formed a culture of art and love!”

The EP also features four further tracks inspired by the star’s looks on the show – including ‘Feeling So Good’ (The Mane Event), ‘East To The West’ (Ru Are You), ‘P.U.D.S.E.Y.’ (Keepin’ It 100) and ‘Ready 4 U’ (Werkroom entrance).

Le Fil shines atop the electronic pop arrangements, packing the tracks with an optimistic vocal. The performer shares how music was a key feature in post-competition life: “When I left the show, I felt quite lost, and all I could think about was writing music. It was my therapy, my outlet, and that’s why I’ve named it ‘Le Filosophical’. Music is what I turned towards to pull me through.”

Le Filosophical Tracklist:
