Packed with sass, energised dance routines, and slick pop beats, emerging pop artist MARQUE releases the official video for his single Won’t Lie featuring Mazy. Back in September, we noted “MARQUE’S sultry, emotive vocals shine against an absorbing electronic Mediterranean-influenced beat underpinned by acoustic guitar,” on the smooth R&B influenced track.
Won’t Lie takes an interesting approach exploring the perspectives of two individuals, with MARQUE telling us “The song was written in the perspective of both myself and an ex of mine.” MARQUE writes the track himself. Drawing from rich personal experience, the handsome star finds inspiration from late night bonfires, ocean waves and his past relationship. MARQUE adds the relationship “washed me up at shore basically,” and now he is “glad to be out of those dark waters.”
The video is directed by Cristian Baretto and MARQUE and shines in furthering the original vision channelled in the track. Impressively choreographed routines in club-set scenes and in white high-ceilinged apartments infuse the video with an elegance and glamour.
