Nobody told us Angelina Jolie was such a big fan of Boom! Yes, her latest directorial project feels like her take on the Richard Burton/Liz Taylor campfest – as she and Brad Pitt play feuding lovers in a Mediterranean paradise.
It’s France in the mid 70s and Vanessa (Jolie) and her husband Roland (Pitt) are travelling the country together. Starting to feel like they’re growing apart they become attached to some of the vibrant characters of a small seaside town.
This looks stylistically compelling and refreshingly small-paced in comparison to Jolie’s sweeping Unbroken. It hits UK cinemas on December 11th.
