MEARSY is the brainchild of Chris Mears: British Olympic gold medallist turned producer. He’s been steadily releasing music this year including the multi-million streamed DNA and Ready to Go featuring Doody. Now MEARSY drops new collaboration Pumped Up Happy People featuring the vocals of rising star Zak Abel.
MEARSY’s Spotify biography notes: “MEARSY is every corner of indie music meeting head on with the fundamentals of the dance music genre. Capturing the raw, organic identity of the vocals, guitars and instrumentation, MEARSY re- dresses them with electronic drum loops and driving synths to create something fresh and new with elements of the familiar. He cut his teeth by writing and producing for artists including Meduza, Tiesto, Felix Jaehn, Vintage Culture and Alok. He’s now stepping out of his studio to present his unique vision to the world.”
Pumped Up Happy People sees Zak deliver soulful vocals atop MEARSY’s slinking electronic pop beats, delivering a feel good pop number that continually uncovers more surprises as it incorporates some smooth danceable house touches.
The number is a promising release from the rising production talent and another impressive showcase for the smooth vocals of Zak.
