You may think you’re listening to a Tennessee native in new country track Tequila Therapy – yet instead you’ll hear the smooth tones of Edinburgh born actor and singer-songwriter Callum Kerr. Kerr found success on UK shores as a star of British soap Hollyoaks and his since gone on to projects across the Atlantic – in both music and acting.
Tequila Therapy is written by Callum and Justin Lee Love, with production from Kyle Henderson. It packs a classic country melody, brimming with warming guitars, nostalgic lyrics about heartbreak healed by a bottle from the top shelf, and charm-filled vocals.
Callum shared on Instagram: “One of the pleasures of fucking around is that you get to find out. I fucked around and relocated to Nashville 6 months ago to work on some of my own music. A blend between modern country and rock and roll.”
Tequila Therapy follows Callum’s tracks for the soundtrack of FOX’s Monarch including a cover of Ain’t No Sunshine from Bill Withers and a high energy country cover of I Love a Rainy Night from Eddie Rabbitt.
