Melbourne based rising pop talent Max Lawrence released his high-octane electronic funk anthem Speak in Tongues last month, but now accompanies the track with an official video. Filmed entirely in Max’s own home, the video is a kaleidoscopic feast for the senses,
Max elaborates about Speak in Tongues: “It’s about that feeling of wanting to kiss someone in the club but having no idea what to say, a feeling I miss a lot, but I wanted to release some fun music to keep our spirits alive while Melbourne is in lockdown.” Backed with fast paced electronic production, the song has an element of funk and early Prince to it. Max delivers the track with a wonderful sense of fiery, chaotic energy capturing that hazy, alcohol-fuelled queer nightclub experience.
Speak in Tongues is Max’s second release of 2020, following April single Gasoline, 2019’s Chlorophyll, and 2018’s Icarus and Float. Connect with him below:
