If HERDD isn’t an artist that’s on your radar, then he should be. The rising star drops his latest single This Kinda Love this week and continues to showcase his appeal as an artist and his continual versatility in musical styles. The dancepop treat is produced in collaboration with Rob Wells, HERDD told us a little about the message in the track:
“‘This Kinda Love’ is all about standing up for what you love, against those who stand against you. The song was partly funded by the government of Canada (via FACTOR).“
This idea of standing up for what you love is evident in the swaggering, electronic beats that make the track such an instant crowdpleaser. It has a buoyant, rousing energy that HERDD immaculately sells – his vocals are confident and swaggering with bravado, dancing along the pumping synth rhythms to produce a euphoric dancepop banger. “I loved you before everybody, I loved you before everybody,” the Montreal native sings in the empowering anthem about fighting for that addictive kind of love.
