Shortly after his role in The Fate of the Furious, Scott Eastwood will star in his own solo car-themed outing, Overdrive. This European action flick is produced by Taken’s Pierre Morel. Here’s the official synopsis for the film:
“Two of today’s hottest young talents, Scott Eastwood and Freddie Thorp, star as a pair of fearless, good-looking siblings, known for being the best car thieves in the world, who travel to the French Riviera in search of new challenges, but who find themselves in the crosshairs of the local crime bosses and their rare and priceless car collections.”
We were sold at Scott Eastwood but good-looking was another clincher. The trailer is very much a teaser with shots of some highly-polished cars, but the little action we do see looks slick. At its best Overdrive will be a pleasing diversion – not our most anticipated release, but we’ve got to support our Scott.
Overdrive is released 22 June.
