It’s hard to believe that Ready to Go hitmakers Republica’s most recent album (and second of their career) was released back in 1998. Now vocalist Saffron, keyboardist Tim Dorney and guitar/bass player Johnny Male return with new music from Republica. The single is New York, a barnstorming electropop anthem that sounds like classic Republica.
Saffron shares: “We’re so happy to be back out headlining live festivals and gigs again after lockdown and delighted at the reactions from the crowds and every audience who seemed to have taken ‘New York’ to their hearts already, as it has become a firm live favourite. So for us it means the world to have the opportunity to finally release new material through Armalyte Records.”
The trio have had a busy time, headlining festivals and delivering performances at high profile events such as the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. However, focus will be continuing to shift onto the new music with Republica’s new album Damaged Gods set to arrive in early 2024.
