Mark your calendars for October 13th as Troye Sivan’s third album Something To Give Each Other arrives on that very date. Thankfully the singer has unveiled the long-teased lead single from the project, Rush, to tide us over for the three month wait.
Troye shares: “Rush is the feeling of kissing a sweaty stranger on a dancefloor, a 2 hour date that turned into a weekend, a crush, a winter, a summer. Party after party, after party after party. All of my experiences from a chapter where I feel confident, free and liberated. Independent, yet somehow the most connected to the music and community around me.”
Rush is an infectious number that captures the endorphin filled highs of new human contact, with Troye crooning: “You got my heartbeat racing / My body blazing / I feel the rush / Addicted to your touch,” on the track’s addictive chorus. With influences of classic disco (we can’t be the only ones hearing the Village People in “I feel the rush, Addicted to your touch”) and contemporary house, Rush marks an exciting new chapter for the Aussie heartthrob.
Rush is accompanied by its headline making video, choreographed by Sergio Reis, with Mauro Van De Kerkhof acting as the assistant choreographer. Kerkhof also appeared as one of the dancers in the video, along with Luca Aigner, Jowha Van De Laak, and Daniel Asamoah.
There’s no album tracklist yet, but the LP can be pre-ordered now.
