Andrew Lambrou represents Cyprus at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the performer delivering the powerful Break a Broken Heart. Andrew worked with writers Jimmy Jansson, Jimmy “Joker” Thornfeldt, Marcus Winther-John and Thomas Stengaard on the track which shines as an emotional heartbreak anthem with a powerhouse chorus and killer vocals.
It has been an interesting journey to the contest for Andrew who previously got close to the contest in the 2022 edition of Australia Decides with his house banger Electrify. Andrew shared the process behind being selected for Cyprus in our interview, discussed his growth as an artist, chatted about the ingredients for the perfect Eurovision song, and delved into his favourite spots in Cyprus.
Andrew shared his excitement at fellow Aussies Voyager joining him at the contest this year and we tested his knowledge of some Liverpudlian slang in the final moments of the interview.
Thanks to Andrew for taking the time to chat. You can support him in Semi-Final 2 of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. Listen to Break a Broken Heart below and follow Andrew’s Instagram here.
