If Grant Knoche isn’t on your musical radar yet, then you need to delve into his back catalogue. The twenty year old American pop talent has been steadily releasing high quality pop over the past few years and his latest cut You Don’t Have to Talk is no exception.
Grant roots the song in a story close to his heart, sharing: “Someone close to me deals with mental illness & in the moments that they were at their worst, I didn’t know how to cheer them up :/ I realized the best thing to do was to just listen if they wanted to talk & be there for them.” The message shines in the sensitive piano melody that accompanies Grant’s gentle vocal delivery which gradually builds with slick electronic elements being incorporated into the production.
Grant produces the track himself and co-writes with Alna Hofmeyr and Christina Galligan. It follows his previous musical delights First Hello, Icarus and Mr Independent. The first of these celebrated Grant’s coming out story with the performer proudly sharing that he was bisexual.
