Whilst eighties synthpop heroes Visage may have left us when the late great Steve Strange passed away in 2015, the singer’s estate continues to celebrate his legacy with new music. The latest of this music is a new remix package of Fade to Grey featuring the talents of Lecomte De Brégeot, Violet Chachki and Kim & Buran.
Lecomte De Brégeot shared: “We have been working secretly for the past few months on an very exciting new project. A great collaboration between London, Paris and Los Angeles, this vinyl is at the heart of this new partnership, can’t wait to reveal more”
Fade to Grey was originally released in 1980 and featured on Visage’s self-titled album. At the time it charted at #8 in its native UK but has since become a classic being sampled by countless artists. Visage would go on to release three albums in the eighties before disbanding. Strange later breathed new life into the group in the early 2010s with albums Hearts & Knives, Orchestral and Demons to Diamonds. Sadly this newfound comeback was cut short due to Strange’s untimely passing.
Rumours of a Steve Strange solo recordings were previously shared – described as being part Divine, part Soft Cell – yet these have not had an official release. Strange also collaborated on a duet with British pop legend Samantha Fox, Dirty n’ Flirty which was assumed to be part of a previously planned solo album. Hopefully the singer’s estate can help with the release of these.
