Alaska Thunderfuck’s upcoming album Red 4 Filth album is shaping up to be one of her best with freshly dropped tracks XOXOY2K and Ask Me showcasing the drag icon in full pop goddess mode. The double release joins previously dropped singles Red, Beautiful (Night 4 a) Breakdown, and Wow from the album which is slated for an early 2022 release.
On XOXOY2K Alaska plays with classic 00s pop culture nostalgia soundtrack by bouncing electronic beats and an infectious backing chorus which helps give the track a nostalgic Europop flavour. Alaska shares: “The fashions and accessories of the early 2000s are burned into my psyche because I came of age in the time of low rise jeans and flip phones. This is a love song about attraction and repulsion – all decorated in the mise en scene of the year 2000.”
Fellow new release Ask Me is two-minutes thirty seconds of Mediterranean Ace of Base inspired pop music that continues to showcase the versatile flavours of the upcoming LP.
Alaska recently celebrates the release of her autobiography My Name’s Alaska, What’s Yours which can be ordeed here. You can see the performer’s tour dates below the jump.
