Calgary-based independent musical talent Robert Adam releases Let’s Do This Again, his first single since 2017. Robert returns with some striking new visuals – disco balls, rodeo crystals, and an immaculate white Stetson, pairing beautifully with the bittersweet youthful energy of his latest single.
Capturing the woozy romance of an immediate crush, Robert brings smooth and calming vocals to the fold, gliding across the lush string-filled production. Elegant backing vocals help produce a near-1960/70s inspired soundscape with this sense of nostalgia pairing beautifully with the romantic imagery in Robert’s songwriting. The singer’s Spotify biography notes that he “crafts records with a reverent respect for traditional country music, while infusing an accessible, modern tone,” and Let’s Do This Again is clear evidence of this.
The singer is currently working on his debut album, whilst spending his days “as a heavy duty mechanic.” He has previously released EP Prairie Gold in 2017.
We’re delighted that Robert is continue to showcase a sense of increasing diversity in country music – yet this is still on an ongoing battle. The singer told County Music Alberta: “I am proud to be in country music because 10 years ago, a person like myself wouldn’t be in country music. Times have changed, and so have I. More and more people are realizing queer people like myself have a valid voice in rural spaces and that we also have songs of substance and deep meaning.”
