After a massively successful Soft Cell reunion and orchestral album Shadows and Reflections, singer Marc Almond announces a brand new studio album, Chaos and a Dancing Star. The album announcement is paired with the release of new track Lord of Misrule. The album hits stores January 31st 2020 and sees Almond collaborate with Ivor Novello winning Chris Braide (pictured above).
The pair collaborate on thirteen original songs, the tracklist of which you can peruse below:
- Black Sunrise
- Hollywood Forever
- Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
- Dust
- Slow Burn Love
- Fighting A War
- Cherry Tree
- Chaos
- Dreaming of Sea
- When the Stars are Gone
- Giallo
- Lord of Misrule
- The Crows Eyes Have Turned Blue
Almond’s typical moody atmospheric titles feel prevalent in the likes of Hollywood Forever, Giallo and When the Stars are Gone, potentially tapping into themes like decaying macabre Hollywood glamour. Lord of Misrule delivers a blend of Almond’s vaudeville stylings with a gaudy medieval glamour.
