We were delighted to chat with Marcus and Martinus who return to the world of Melodifestivalen this weekend with their latest entry, Unforgettable. The track sees Marcus & Martinus return to the Swedish national selection in the hopes of one-upping their 2023 entry Air, which hit second place in the contest. The Norwegian singer-songwriters have collaborated with an impressive team of songwriters for the track with Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt, Joy Deb and Linnea Deb co-writing.
In our conversation we chatted about the duo’s recent We Are Not the Same tour and an interesting tattoo development. Marcus and Martinus shared how they were preparing for Melodifestivalen and delved into whether the pressure was as steep as a returning artist, compared to making their debut last year. The boys explored the creation process behind the song and gave an idea as to how viewers would react to the staging.
A real highlight for fans will be watching Marcus and Martinus take part in our Marcus OR Martinus round where we got to know the stars a little better. You can watch that and the full interview above.
Thanks to Marcus & Martinus for taking the time to chat. You can follow their socials and support them in Melodifestivalen Heat 5 on the 2nd of March at 2000 CET on SVT.
