Senhit delivers her take on a Broadway turned disco classic with her version of I Am What I Am. The track is her first single since dance pop number Pow and sees her collaborate with producers Placido Salomone and Massimo Zanotti.
The original I Am What I Am was featured in Jerry Herman’s Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles and was later turned into a disco single by Gloria Gaynor. It’s subsequently been covered by artists as wide ranging as Amanda Lear, Shirley Bassey and The Village People. Senhit’s version takes the number’s danceable history and gives it a makeover ripe for 2023.
The Bologna born singer found success with her Eurovision numbers Stand By, Freaky and Adrenalina, and his subsequently released bangers including Pow. She will be embarking on her I Am What I Am tour in 2024.
