Despite previously saying she was done with recording, Sheryl Crow returns with a rousing new pop-rock anthem Alarm Clock, the first taste of a brand new studio LP Evolution. The new single, like the album, is produced by Mike Elizondo, who co-wrote the single with Sheryl and Emily Weisband.
“This music and these lyrics came from sitting in the quiet and writing from a deep soul place,” Sheryl said of new album Evolution in a press release. “I said I’d never make another record, thought there was no point to it. But this music comes from my soul. And I hope whoever hears this record can feel that.”
“It’s a beautiful life, blow your mind / And make you say “Ah!” / When I open my eyes / Baby, that’s when the dreams stop / That’s why I hate my, that’s why I hate my / That’s why I hate my alarm clock…” sings Sheryl in lyrics laden with pop hooks and her unmistakable signature vocals.
