Years & Years upcoming new album Night Call is shaping up to be wall to wall bangers with the Olly Alexander project dropping yet another triumph in the form of Sweet Talker. The latest single follows previous releases Starstruck and Crave and sees Olly team-up with Swedish electronic production duo Galantis.
On Sweet Talker Olly croons “You’re such a sweet talker, Man of my dreams, Tell me where are you, where are you now? Sweet talker…” against twinkling high energy synths and elegant strings. Considering the euphoric energy mustered up in the track, Olly notes that this came from a frustrated place noting: “I was writing from a fantastical space, stuck in the same four walls. I wanted to have as much pleasure as possible in the music.” From the way Night Call is shaping up it seems like Olly achieved his goal.
We’re tempted to say that this is the best track released from Night Call so far, but we can’t forget the blessed piece of camp pop culture that is Starstruck featuring HRH Kylie Minogue.
