Shania Twain & Orville Peck Release Video for ‘Legends Never Die,’ Peck Releases ‘Show Pony’ EP and Twain Announces ‘The Woman in Me’ Rerelease

File this one under the top five musical moments of the year. We wrote about Orville Peck and Shania Twain’s duet Legends Never Die back in May when it was due to be released in June as part of the former’s Show Pony EP. With the COVID pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests dominating the past months, Orville decided to delay the release until today – marking the release of the EP, with the premiere of the video for Legends Never Die.

The track is a gorgeous showcase for both Orville and Shania – steering the latter to a more traditional country sound, yet packing all the attitude and sass of her more pop-friendly heyday. “Because, baby, we’ve been up all night / I built that road and walked it every mile / Takin’ orders never been my style / Yeah, it’s been a while,” the country duo sing on the contemporary outlaw anthem, celebrating Shania as a country trendsetter.

In true queer country fashion, Show Pony also features Orville’s gritty cover of Reba’s Fancy, as well as previously released singles No Glory in the West and Summertime. New original tracks Kids and Drive Me Crazy make up the remainder of the six track EP.

Shania has also revealed all the details of The Woman in Me: Diamond Edition, a rerelease of her seminal 1995 album, containing remixes, live performances, and previously unreleased tracks. It will hit stores October 2nd. To celebrate the release, Shania performed at her home in Switzerland with her NOW tour support act Bastian Baker, delivering a new version of Any Man of Mine.
