Love, Simon was one of our cinematic highlights of 2018 so news that the screenwriters of the original film, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, have gone to work on a spin-off series has us incredibly excited. Although he does not star, Nick Robinson, lead of the original film narrates and produces the series.
Love, Victor follows Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.
Our new lead is Michael Cimino, who can be seen in an amusing snippet shown in the series’ teaser trailer above. The show was originally produced with the intention of featuring on the Disney Plus streaming app, but subsequently moved to Hulu due to the ‘adult themes’ it portrays.
Love, Victor premieres on 19 June on Hulu in the US.
