Just before M. Night Shyamalan immerses us in Wayward Pines, the writer-director releases The Visit, which is set to be his smallest scale project since his 1992 directorial debut, Praying with Anger.
Featuring killer grandparents and the amazing Kathryn Hahn, The Visit looks like Shyamalan is finally embracing the comedic tone which unintentionally sneaked into his last few films. Hahn plays a mother who ditches her children with their grandparents (so she can go on a sexy singles cruise, of course) – but unbeknown to her Grandma and Grandpa have some unusual habits.
This looks like a tongue-in-cheek updated of Hansel & Gretel and we’re intrigued to see Shyamalan get back to a small scale film.
The Visit hits UK cinemas on September 11th.
