It feels like a long time since the UK sent in a female fronted banger – even though the lifelong impact of Javine’s Touch My Fire will never be forgotten! Thankfully the time has come and the chanteuse chosen to deliver such a bop is the lovely Mae Muller.
Mae co-wrote her entry I Wrote a Song with Brit-Nominated songwriter Lewis Thompson and Karen Poole, with production from Thompson and Alfred Parx. The song is a sparky and contemporary dancefloor anthem brimming with a sense of female-empowerment and attitude.
Mae shared her excitement on social media, noting: “I cannot believe I’m even saying this… but I am this year’s UK entry for EUROVISION 2023 with my track I Wrote a Song. This has been the hardest secret to keep in the WORLD (literally nearly let it slip a million times lol scream) but the news is finally out!!!”
The twenty-five year old pop talent has the positivity, energy and enthusiasm to do the UK proud and build on the brilliant progress Sam Ryder made for the country. Good luck Mae!
