Norwegian musical talent Mari Bølla won her nation’s Idol series back in 2020 and now returns with a defiant pop anthem, Not That Girl.
Mari shared the track with a message exploring its meaning on her Instagram: “The song was written at a time when life was very tough, and I needed it to lift myself out of the darkness. I really hope that the song can give you strength, joy and even comfort, because we are so much stronger than we think.”
This message of strength is clear from Mari’s impassioned vocal delivery and swaggering pop production from Mathias Nilsen. The track is co-written by Mathias and Mari alongside Aadne Eriksen Haaland and Kjell Øverland.
Not That Girl follows Mari’s first post-Idol single Now That I Found You. Connect with her here.
