Kat Von D Announces Debut Album ‘Love Made Me Do It’, Debuts First Single ‘Exorcism’

Kat Von D has made a name for herself in the world of art, modelling and tattoos, and is now set to conquer the music biz with her debut single Exorcism. The track is lifted from her upcoming debut album Love Made Me Do It which is scheduled for an August 27th release.

Kat shares “I wrote ‘Exorcism’ after having binged on every exorcist movie that ever existed. I loved the idea of tying the act of being possessed by something outside your control to what love can sometimes feel like; losing yourself in someone else, and sometimes it leaving you black and blue.” You can see some of that influence in the cinematic music video for the project which evokes classic horror nostalgia, whilst also serving as a stellar musical showcase for Kat. The vibrant synth-rocker is written by Kat alongside Nick Long and Tommy English.

With music as her first major passion – the star is a classically trained pianist since her youth – it is truly exciting to see Kat launch this new chapter of her career. Exorcism is an energetic, brooding electronic anthem that sees the performer deliver an enigmatic cool and charisma against the rippling synths. There are a further eleven tracks arriving on Love Made Do It, which Kat notes“ is a collection of all my hopeless romantic thoughts poured into one album.”

The album features a plethora of star collaborators including Dave Grohl, Linda Perry, Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio), Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails), Ladyhawke and Charo.  We certainly can’t wait to hear the results.
