Benjamin Ingrosso Delivers Another Slice of Swedish Pop Perfection With Cherrie Collab ‘VHS’

Packed with smooth seventies-inspired disco grooves, Benjamin Ingrosso delivers his latest song VHS with fellow Swedish pop talent Cherrie. VHS is produced by Pontus Preston and shines through the slinky production and charismatic vocal contributions from Benjamin and Cherrie who have a natural musical chemistry.

Cherrie notes: “VHS is about a love you can never get back, the only thing you have left are memories, it’s like an old movie you can not see again because no one has VHS tapes anymore and our theme for the song is reminiscent of that kind of Love.” The singer adds: “Benjamin is a musical genius, he can play the piano, he comes up with a lot of melodies in his own way and even came up with the theme for the song.”

Benjamin has recently been enjoying the success of his debut Swedish-language album En gång i tiden, yet VHS does not feature on the set. It’s unclear if this is a standalone release of if Benjamin is plotting his next Swedish-language LP. Fans were recently delighted when Benjamin performed a stand-out Swedish pop medley with fellow label-mate and friend Felix Sandman at the Andra Chansen round of Melodifestivalen. This marks Cherrie’s first single of 2021 after 2020 saw her release several high profile tracks including 123 and Maria.
