TV Trailer: Penny Dreadful

Looking slightly higher quality than our previous TV preview (Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk Till Dawn TV reboot), is Showtime’s upcoming horror series Penny Dreadful.

Penny Dreadful takes us to Victorian London where a number of Gothic monsters are roaming free and spreading eerie chills, from Dracula to the Wolf Man. Throw in Josh Hartnett’s American sharpshooter and Eva Green’s brooding heroine with a mysterious past and you have yourself a hit we reckon. And of course, how could we forget the excellent Timothy Dalton. Dalton is not on the big screen nearly enough, so getting a regular weekly fix of the Bond icon sounds particularly exciting.

Penned by Skyfall’s John Logan and executive produced by Sam Mendes, it seems that Penny Dreadful will certainly be a must see for horror fans and those that simply enjoy high quality programming. With True Blood coming to an end, and NBC’s Dracula falling way below expectations, we need more hit horror TV shows to join FX’s lonely The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.
