Bright Light Bright Light Delivers Next ‘Fun City’ Anthem ‘I Used to Be Cool’

We are obsessed with the video for Bright Light Bright Light’s latest video for his freshly released track, I Used to Be Cool. The track is a blissful poolside anthem with a chilled breezy Summer disco melody pulsing through it.

The video sees an incredibly handsome gentleman (Christian Bendek) ‘desperately seeking a house boy’ to keep his property looking more ‘Xanadu‘ than ‘Grey Gardens‘. The ad gets the attention of Bright Light Bright Light and his crew of short short clad colleagues who quickly fall under the spell of Christian’s chiselled good looks. The short is directed and edited by Tyler Jensen, with Eavvon O’Neal on DoP duties. Sam Benedict and Josep Magraner co-star as Bright Light Bright Light’s equally infatuated assistants. The playful video feels like a throwback to classic American teen cinema of the eighties and perfectly captures the woozy sun-baked charm of the track.

I Used to Be Cool is the third release from Bright Light Bright Light’s upcoming album Fun City – gearing up for release on the 18th of September. Previous releases from the album include This Was My House featuring Niki Haris, Donna De Lory, and Initial Talk and Sensation featuring the ever irresistible Jake Shears.

Pre-order Fun City from Bright Light Bright Light’s official store. We’d recommend the gorgeous pink vinyl – see below.
