It seems to have been a long time coming, but Rufus Wainwright has finally released a new pop track with Trouble in Paradise, thought to be the first single of the singer’s yet-to-be-announced new album.
Wainwright has been busy: his last pop album Out of the Game hit shelves in 2012, which he followed this with 2015 opera release Prima Donna and 2016’s Take All My Loves, a set of Shakespeare sonnets.
Trouble in Paradise reasserts him as an engaging singer-songwriter. Packed with lush orchestral production and lyrical self-awareness, the track is a welcome return for Wainwright.
We’ll have news album his upcoming album when its available. Stream Trouble in Paradise below.
