Niall Horan has revealed details regarding his upcoming third album The Show which arrives on June 9th. The album tracklist has not been revealed yet, but new single Heaven is presumed to feature.
Heaven steers away from the bombastic pop of Nice To Meet Ya, Niall’s lead single for his second album Heartbreak Weather, returning to the melodic guitar pop of his debut album Flicker. There’s a slow burning groove in John Ryan and Joel Little’s gradually building production, with both co-writing alongside Niall and Tobias Jesso Jr. In the dreamy romantic lyrics of the melodic chorus, Niall croons “God only knows where this could go / And even if our love starts to grow out of control / And you and me go up in flames / Heaven won’t be the same…”
Niall shares: “One thing I’ve learned over the years is that society loves to pressure us into reaching certain milestones by a certain age. Whether that’s getting married or anything else that really should be based on our own instincts. As I’ve gotten older I’ve tried to let go of those expectations and just follow my heart. The chorus of this song is saying that what I have in my life currently is amazing. So it would be crazy to ruin that by giving into outside pressures.”
More details are expected to appear regarding The Show in the coming weeks. With a variety of formats available, we’ll be going for one without the garish title text – it seems the only beat Niall has missed so far is the album artwork.
