Whilst Kylie Minogue’s rerelease of her album DISCO was one of the world’s least secret projects, the Aussie pop superstar nonetheless has us very excited with its confirmation. Whilst the new collection, Disco: Guest List Edition is undeniably remix heavy, it does tease three new duets with talent including Jessie Ware, Years & Years and disco goddess Gloria Gaynor. The singer teases the December scheduled rerelease by debuting A Second to Midnight, her collaboration with Years & Years’ Olly Alexander.
Continuing the slinky seventies shimmer of the original DISCO album, Kylie and Olly recruits Martin Sjølie, Biff Stannard and Duck Blackwell for co-writing duties – with the latter two stepping into to also produce. The duo sing: “I’m chasing after midnight, Show me the way to your heart (Yeah, yeah), Ready for the start of my real life (Real life), To shine like a light in the dark (Shine)…” against expectedly joyous electronic production, both complementing each other well vocally.
