The greatest US politician that never was is the subject of upcoming documentary, Gore Vidal: The United States of Amnesia.
Directed by Nicholas D. Wrathall, “the film dramatizes Gore’s political views and his concern at the present state of American democracy using interviews and historical footage of his famous appearances on television and talk shows over the last fifty years”
Vidal was one of the world’s most formidable intellectuals and The United States of Amnesia looks like an absorbing glance into his later years.
The film continues to tour the festival circuit with a DVD release hopefully coming later in the year.
