Rod Thomas better know to us as Bright Light Bright Light releases his latest single I Don’t Know What I’m Gonna Do, a synth-soaked heartbreak number that follows his high-energy country-pop delight Country Boy Two-Step with Cameron Hawthorn.
Lyrics such as “Without that great big part of my life / When I see your smile / Without that great big part of my day / When I hear you say my name…” capture that isolating feeling of loss, emptiness and confusion after heartbreak with Rod’s vocals passionately conjuring these emotive feelings. Synth-heavy production and a rousing percussive melody create a poignant canvas to help these sentiments shine.
Rod previously released celebratory LGBTQ+ collaboration album Fun City in 2020, with a rarities collection So Gay, So Dramatic later following. Earlier this year marked the re-release of the singer’s debut Make Me Believe In Hope.
