Australian broadcaster Foxtel have announced the long-awaited return of The Real Housewives of Melbourne with a real cast shake-up. The legendary Janet Roach, Gamble Breaux and Jackie Gillies will all be returning to the fold, with Gina Liano and Lydia Schiavello not returning. Whilst fan favourite Gina will certainly be missed, there are four new recruits joining the madness: Cherry Dipietrantonio, Kyla Kirkpatrick, Anjali Rao, and Simone Elliott.
So who are the newbies? Foxtel describe Simone as a ” blonde with ambition”, who “has had a diverse and successful career working as a national business manager for large multinational organisations.” Anjali is an award winning news anchor, who most famously hosted CNN’s Talk Asia for six years, whilst Kyla is known as the ‘Champagne Dame’ and runs one of the most successful champagne import export businesses in the country – Emperor Champagne. Cherry is a UK-hailing Yoga Instructor who runs YouTube channel Mindful Motion.
Although Gina and Lydia were scheduled to return in a previously announced line-up, they have since decided to step back. Thankfully it’s all shine, shine, shine as Aussie psychic queen Jackie was previously confirmed not to return, will now be coming back. We’re ever thankful that the icons Gamble and Janet will still be making their returns. Let’s hope for more lines including “I’m asking you a question you dumb fat bitch” and “Go drown in the fucking pool” from Ms Roach.
The Real Housewives of Melbourne will debut on Fox Arena later this year. UK audiences should likely expect the series on HayU. Celebrate the best of Janet below.
