The trailer for FOX’s upcoming Kim Cattrall lead series Filthy Rich has just dropped and it looks like a frothy bit of Southern camp. The ten episode series is set to debut later in the year and comes from the mind of The Help’s Tate Taylor. Check out the official synopsis below:
“A southern Gothic family drama in which wealth, power and religion collide – with outrageously soapy results. When the patriarch of a mega-rich Southern family, famed for creating a wildly successful Christian television network, dies in a plane crash, his wife and family are stunned to learn that he fathered three illegitimate children, all of whom are written into his will, threatening their family name and fortune. With monumental twists and turns, FILTHY RICH presents a world in which everyone has an ulterior motive – and no one is going down without a fight.“
Kim’s last big television job was the Canadian remake of Sensitive Skin – a gentle and intimate look at ageing with a bold sense of humour. Filthy Rich looks like an intriguing change of pace with the iconic actress getting to camp it up as the vampy Southern matriarch. We’re excited for this one.
