We recently raved about Charlie Jeer’s latest single My Madonna, and the rising star has now returned with the equally irresistible So Good, a collaboration with songwriter and actress Simone Ashley. Blending Charlie’s distinctive mix of jazz and pop, the track is an elegant, breezy slice of summer that perfectly showcases the pair’s undeniable chemistry.
Tapping into nostalgic glamour thanks to producer Ben Stancombe’s sultry, disco-infused production, So Good is an undeniable sonic delight. Charlie’s smooth vocals effortlessly complement Simone’s charismatic performance, resulting in a distinctive and refreshing pop offering.
Discussing the collaboration, Charlie said: “I wanted to make a song that spreads positivity and joy into the world – ‘SO GOOD’ was written just for that purpose. Having Simone Ashley on the record is such a privilege; she added so much life and energy into the song, and I’m grateful to work with such incredible people. We wanted to create a sonic palette that nods to a time where the world felt much simpler – echoing disco nostalgia. I’m so excited to be able to release ‘SO GOOD’, and I hope everyone feels the joy that we put into the record.”
Simone was equally enthusiastic about working alongside Charlie, explaining: “When I was first introduced to Charlie and his work, I wasn’t just drawn to his undeniable talent, but his sense of dreaming big. I think it’s really important to surround yourself with like-minded creatives who want to achieve their dreams and motivate the people around them to work harder and play harder. This track oozes summer and a funk that I couldn’t get out of my head. I’ve made some wonderful memories surrounding this song and the making of the music video, and I can’t wait for everything that we’re up to individually and together in the future.”
Adding to the excitement, Charlie will release his forthcoming EP, Take Away My Problems, on 4 September, before heading out on tour later this year. If So Good is anything to go by, the future looks incredibly bright for one of the UK’s most exciting emerging artists.
