She’s readying her own new music, but to tide us over Canadian-Portuguese pop talent Nelly Furtado ends a six year musical drought with a new collaboration. Teaming up with Aussie house star Dom Dollar, the pair deliver Eat Your Man, an attitude packed EDM number.
Singing over a trance-infused bassline, Nelly provides some callback to previous anthems Like a Bird and Maneater, sharing: “I’ll eat your man, devour him whole / Lickin’ my fingers, I’m in control / Fly like a bird, I’m takin’ it home / Movin’ my body like a nympho.” It’s edgy, addictive, and a welcome return for Nelly.
Nelly shared details about her upcoming album collaborations with Variety: “I have been making new music solid, nonstop for the last year the way I like to: late nights, space to create wildly and loads of community and collaboration.”
She adds: “I am making a pop album influenced by sounds that I love. My album touches on dance — I did a record with SG Lewis that I adore. T-Minus produced my Bomba Estereo song (T-Minus is a beast!) I am proud of that record. One of my favorite tunes is produced by Wonda Gurl – I love her energy.”
