The enduring power of Eurovision is continually highlighted when we see the long and fruitful career of artists even after their time competing in the contest has come to an end. Conchita Wurst secured Austria’s victory in 2014 and continues to push themselves creatively with new music that continually challenges our expectations. Conchita’s newest release is CAR (IDHLARGT) with the artist co-writing with Lukas Klement and Martin Zerza.
Conchita shares “Every moment in life is ambivalent and has several sides. The only thing I can determine for myself is whether I train my perception to see the good or surrender to the abyss,” and this is relatable concept is one found at the heart of the adrenaline fuelled CAR (IDHLARGT) and its accompanying video.
Conchita’s new single takes a punky electronic vibe evoking the likes of Kraftwerk, Propaganda and Soft Cell as it combines attitude-filled vocals with sharp industrial electronic sounds.
