Exploring fresh sonic territory, Wes Nelson returns with a country-tinged singer-songwriter number on I’ll Wait, a bouncing, toe-tapping anthem. With hopeful lyricism and big vocals from Wes, the track is written by Ali Tennant, Michael Angelo and Wes, with production from Michael Angelo.
Wes has explored a variety of sounds since beginning his music career – delving into the world of R&B and dance music – but I’ll Wait feels like an intriguing new direction for the British star. Angelo’s production style suits Wes well, allowing his strong vocals to shine and the optimistic lyrics of the track to stand out.
Wes croons: “I don’t wanna wake up alone in our bed / Choking on the things that I shouldn’t have said / I don’t wanna break us, turn us into strangers / Let me just be patient, so take your time…” – lyrics that tell of him waiting for a loved one to return.
The single is the British musician’s first release of 2025, following on from his 2024 hits Barcelona and Yellow.
