Olya Polyakova continues to shine as one of Ukraine’s finest pop talents, something her latest smash Warrior firmly asserts. Olya stole our hearts with tracks such as Love Is Blue (with Army of Lovers) and All Your Love, but now delivers a career-best anthem in Warrior.
Warrior is an ode to empowerment and serves as the first single from Olya’s upcoming English-language album, on which she collaborates with producers Red Triangle. The single also showcases Olya as a continued ally of the LGBT+ community, featuring a collaboration with the British LGBT group The Force Choir, fifty singers led by musical director Jamie Powe.
Olya’s warrior spirit is channelled in the spectacular video, which soars through technical innovation and cinematic appeal. Director Mitya Shmurak shares: “This is a large-scale experimental work that combines live action, 3D graphics, and artificial intelligence technologies. We sought to create a clip in the style of superhero films and comics, inspired by the idea of the multiverse. Warrior is a story about strength of spirit, the struggle between good and evil, the courage to be yourself, and rebirth after trials.”
Olya has also thrown her hat into the ring to represent Ukraine at Eurovision. We have no doubt that Warrior would be the perfect track for the contest, and if Olya were not to represent Ukraine, we would be delighted to see her represent the UK, perhaps as a showcase of the enduring friendship between the two nations. Olya shared: “There’s so much more ahead, new, honest, and true. Moreover, this year I made the decision to apply for participation in the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.”
