Troye Sivan Reveals Fourth Album ‘She’s the Best’

Troye Sivan reveals the details of his upcoming studio album She’s the Best, accompanying the news with the release of the title track as its lead single.

She’s the Best was written by Sivan, Leland, George Daniel, Jack Antonoff and Styalz Fuego, with production from Daniel, Antonoff, Fuego and Sivan. The track is a hazy alternative pop number that veers away from the club-ready sounds of previous album lead single Rush, which launched Something to Give Each Other. She’s the Best begins with spoken verses before guitars, strings and synthesizers build around the vocal, opening into a fuller arrangement.

A press release notes: “She’s the Best is a painting that captures my life in all of its moods and colours.” Sivan added that the record reflects both the “high-octane highs” of recent years and the solitude and longing beneath them, while tracing how femininity became a constant in his life. He also said that “the feminine” had been the constant that helped keep him grounded through changes in work and relationships.

The accompanying visuals feature an appearance from cinema legend and fellow Australian Nicole Kidman.

The press release continues: “Its subject is the influence of women, particularly trans women, as well as drag queens, feminine-presenting people and femininity more broadly on Sivan’s life and creative identity.”
