The Sounds’ Maja Ivarsson Seamlessly Blends Rock and Pop Anthems On Sophomore Solo EP ‘Iconic’

Maja Ivarsson has conquered the worlds of pop and rock as frontwoman of The Sounds, and now she continues to shine as a solo star with her sophomore EP Iconic. The four-track release follows her debut solo set Kamikaze Life, led by her Melodifestivalen anthem of the same name. Those four tracks still hold impressive replay value to this day.

On the EP’s title track, which we featured back in June, Maja explained: “Despite our mistakes and shortcomings, it is an uptempo song with a good drive and good melodies. Just the way I want it.”

Discussing the full EP, her second solo release, Maja said: “I am of course very proud that I have been given the chance at both a new start in my career as a solo artist and the support I have from my team and band. But most of all from the audience who have given me so incredibly much. I hope these new works will find a place in your heart as you have done for me.”

Maja accompanies Iconic with new tracks Badge of Honour, Daydreaming, and Do It, all created alongside Linnea Deb, Andreas Lindbergh, and Joy Deb. She reveals a vulnerable side on the ballad Badge of Honour, while her confidence soars on the reworked The Sounds demo Daydreaming. Closing track Do It delivers rocky dancefloor swagger that fans of her work with Crew of Me&You will instantly recognise and adore.
