Stephen Sanchez Embraces Motown Vibes on ‘Chuck the Money’ Ahead of ‘Love, Love, Love’ Album

Stephen Sanchez ventured into the world of fifties crooner pop with his album Angel Face back in 2023. Sonically, he now shifts into swinging sixties territory with the Motown-inspired sound of his second LP Love, Love, Love. With the full album arriving on 8 May, Stephen has already dropped lead single Sweet Love and now releases a further taste of the collection with Chuck the Money.

Release notes share: “On the new record, Stephen muses about love in its many forms – partners, friends, neighbours and even strangers – brought to life by rich vocals and a technicolour pop sound. The title track epitomises the album’s themes, as Stephen proclaims the importance of showing love to others, even (and especially) when they may not be expressing the same.”

Chuck the Money sees Stephen collaborate with fellow songwriters Oscar Gorres and Rami Yacoub. Produced by Görres, the track leans fully into sixties-inspired cool, blending slick instrumentation with an effortless swagger that compliments Stephen’s retro-styled vocals.

On the upcoming album, Stephen shares: “This record is inspired by the love I’ve been lucky enough to receive, the love I sometimes struggle to give to others, and my desire to see people come together. To quote the title track, ‘it’s just what the world needs!’” See the tracklist below.
