Singer-Songwriter Pebe Sebert (and Kesha’s Mother) Releases Eagerly-Awaited Debut Album

Pebe Sebert recorded her debut album in the 1980s with producer Guy Roche, though the set remained unreleased – until now. Brimming with eighties pop energy and dynamism, the synthesiser-driven collection spans ethereal ballads to infectious dancefloor cuts.

The album release notes reveal: “The album includes the standout single ‘City’s Burning’, along with fan favourites ‘Vampire’ (2021) and ‘Hard Times Ahead’ (2022), now presented in their definitive forms. A rare glimpse into the early artistry of one of pop music’s most influential writers, this release is both a time capsule and a revelation.”

Tracks like Vampire may ring familiar to fans, with Pebe’s daughter Kesha’s rendition becoming a beloved cult favourite. City’s Burning blazes with defiant, dramatic eighties flair, while The Ice delivers a pulsating dancefloor rush.

Pebe would later go on to pen hits including Old Flames (Can’t Hold a Candle to You), Your Love Is My Drug, and Timber. See the full tracklist for Pebe’s debut album below and order your copy here.
