British actor and singer-songwriter Sebastian Croft impressed with his debut single Tokyo, leaving expectations high for an equally strong follow-up. The result more than lives up to those expectations with Better Than Ever.
Sebastian co-writes the track with Madelene Eliasson and Liam Jessup, with Eliasson also handling production, drawing listeners into an emotive singer-songwriter anthem. A gentle sense of emotion runs throughout the song, paired with lyrical irony and intelligence, as Sebastian sings: “Cos you’re better than ever / Leaving me looks good on you / I’ll just drown in my sweater (forever) / Watching all of your dreams come true.”
Better Than Ever taps into themes of eventually finding peace after a difficult break-up. Sebastian brings an impressive sense of storytelling to the track, alongside absorbing vocals and polished, understated production.
