Sanna Nielsen Celebrates 30 Years in Music with 'Heaven is a Place on Earth'

Sanna Nielsen made our dreams come true with her euphoric return to Melodifestivalen with the schlager banger Waste Your Love. The iconic Swedish pop star also celebrated thirty years in the music business with the track, a celebration she continues with a new cover of Belinda Carlisle’s hit Heaven Is a Place on Earth.

Sanna shares: “I am celebrating my thirtieth anniversary as an artist this year and look back on so many wonderful memories and experiences. Getting to do my version of ‘Heaven Is a Place on Earth’ is a look back at my entire upbringing and the beginning of my interest in music. It was the song I always played when I stood in my pink girl’s room in front of the mirror and imitated the English language as best I could. I was overjoyed when the song appeared on the MR Music albums and also had a singback version so I could sing along to just the music. Now I have my own version, a few decades later, and the little girl in me couldn’t be happier to take the song out of the pink girl’s room and onto beautiful stages around the country.”

Sanna worked with producer Jimmy Jansson on the track, which was originally a UK and Swedish number one for the former The Go-Go’s star. Sanna is currently leading Så som i himmelen in Gothenburg and will be hitting stages across Sweden with a series of summer performances.
