It was clear that Robyn was cooking something exciting, and the release of the single Dopamine set alarm bells ringing that the Swedish pop legend was returning with a new album. Now, Robyn unveils her upcoming album, Sexistential, and drops both the title track and the scene-stealing Talk to Me.
On Sexistential, Robyn shares: “Exploring my sensual life is the same feeling as when I make a good song. It’s such a beautiful kind of sensitive vibration that takes so much work to keep afloat.” She continues: “I feel like the purpose of my life is to stay horny; it does not even have to be about sex, but it is feeling sensual and attracted to things that I enjoy, and not letting anything take over that.”
Continuing her collaboration with longtime colleague Klas Åhlund, Talk to Me sees Robyn continue to navigate the dance floor with icy synths drawing us in. The rap-driven track Sexistential provides a generous serving of Robyn’s free-spirited individuality, with the number serving as a rap about the star’s IVF experiences, the star singing: “I like to go out, Wear somеthing nice and push, Is existential.” We have no doubt that the remaining six tracks will provide some equally thrilling surprises.
